Former strip club may become gas station
The former site of Olympia’s first strip club could soon become a gas station and food mart.
Desire Gentleman’s Club closed its doors because of unpaid taxes in November 2014 and left behind a vacant fluorescent pink building at 3200 Pacific Ave. SE. The site is next to an Interstate 5 off-ramp.
A proposal to turn the site into a service station was submitted to the city’s Site Plan Review Committee for consideration March 16. The applicant is Satnam Singh, who owns and operates the Chevron station at 1018 Plum St. SE.
Singh declined to comment about the Pacific Avenue proposal and said more information will be available by the end of the year. The property was purchased in 2013 by an organization called WA 2013 LLC and registered under Irving G. Snyder, who could not be reached for comment.
No action was taken by the Site Plan Review Committee, which examines such proposals for any major issues prior to a formal application to the city. The next step would be a formal land use application or engineering application.
