Average gas price up 3.5 cents over one week
Gas prices continue to climb.
The average retail gasoline price in Tacoma has risen 3.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.65 per gallon Monday, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
The $2.65 figure for Tacoma compares with a national average that has increased 2.4 cents per gallon in the past week to $2.38 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Prices were 44.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 10.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 16.8 cents per gallon during the past month and stands 41.8 cents per gallon lower than this time a year ago.
The lowest price in Pierce County on Monday, $2.29 per gallon, could be found at a 76 station in Milton, according to tacomagasprices.com. In Olympia, the lowest price was $2.36 a gallon at the APP station on Fones Road, according to washingtongasprices.com.
