Thurston County’s 11th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a woman in her 20s

A woman in her 20s is the latest confirmed case of coronavirus here, Thurston County Public Health and Social Services announced Monday.

That’s now 11 confirmed cases, afflicting men and women, ranging in age from their 20s to 60s.

The 11 cases so far:

  • March 11: A man in his 50s;
  • March 13: A man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s;
  • March 15: A man in his 60s;
  • March 16: A woman in her 40s;
  • March 18: A man in his 30s;
  • March 20: A woman in her 60s and a woman in her 50s;
  • March 21: A man in his 40s and a man in his 30s;
  • March 23: A woman in her 20s.

Mason County Public Health also announced its second confirmed case on Monday, a woman in her 70s who is now isolating herself at home, county officials said.

Across the state, nearly 2,000 cases had been reported as of Monday, with 95 deaths, according to the state Department of Health. More than half of those cases and deaths have been reported in King County.

The U.S. has the third most confirmed coronavirus cases in the world at more than 41,000 as of Monday, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

As of Monday, there had been more than 370,000 confirmed cases worldwide, and more than 16,000 deaths.
