Thurston County adds one more confirmed COVID-19 case, bringing total to 118
Thurston County added one more confirmed case of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 118.
A woman in her 80s was the latest to test positive, according to the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services website.
Of those 118 cases, one person has died and 108 have either recovered or are recovering, giving the county nine active cases of COVID-19. Just 19 of the people who have had confirmed cases in Thurston County have had to be hospitalized.

- The week of March 9: Four cases.
- March 16-22: 6.
- March 23-29: 26.
- March 30-April 5: 31.
- April 6-12: 13.
- April 13-19: 12.
- April 20-26: 8.
- April 27-May 3: 12.
- The week of May 4 so far: 6.
In the region
Pierce County cases continue to climb. The county added 10 more on Thursday with one more death, giving Pierce 1,634 cases and 58 deaths. The death was a Puyallup man in his 60s with underlying health conditions, according to county health officials.
Lewis County continued to have 30 cases with three deaths.
Mason County has 28 cases and one death. Six cases are considered active.
Grays Harbor County has reported one new case and now has 14 confirmed cases.
Around the state, nation and world
Washington state added 157 confirmed cases to its total Friday, and had 16,388 cases with 905 deaths as of Friday afternoon, according to the state Department of Health.
In the U.S., the world leader in the number of cases and deaths, data compiled by Johns Hopkins University showed 1.28 million confirmed cases and more than 77,000 deaths. Fifteen states now have seen 1,000 or more residents die of coronavirus.
Globally, there have been 3.9 million confirmed cases reported and more than 274,000 deaths.
