3 new COVID-19 cases reported in Thurston County
Thurston County confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 173 in the county.
According to data provided by Thurston County Public Health and Social Services, the new cases are a man in his 30s, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 90s.
It is not clear if any of the cases are related to the recent outbreaks in either Tumwater’s Olympics West Retirement Inn or Lacey’s Infinite Care Adult Family Home.
Currently, the total number of Thurston County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 is 173. Of those who tested positive, 26 have at some point been hospitalized, 143 are recovering or have recovered, and two residents have died.
In the region
Pierce County reported eight new cases on Monday, bringing their total number of cases to 2,059. They reported no new deaths, leaving their count at 80.
Lewis County has 37 cases with three deaths, a number that has not changed since June 1.
Mason County has 36 cases and no deaths.
Grays Harbor County has 19 cases.
Around the state, nation and globe
Washington state has reported 24,041 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with a total of 1,161 deaths, according to the Washington State Department of Health.
Nationally, the U.S. had 1.96 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 with about 111,000 deaths as of Monday afternoon, according to Johns Hopkins University. Globally, 7.1 million people have tested positive for the disease with 406,500 deaths.
