Thurston County adds six new COVID-19 cases; now 1,140 total
Thurston County announced six new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. One more person has died of the virus, a man in his 60s.
The six new cases include a man in his 70s, a woman in her 60s, a woman in her 40s, two men in their 30s, and a person aged 0-10, according to Thurston County Public Health and Social Services.
Over the weekend, the number of people hospitalized grew by two. It now stands at 81. The county now has 1,140 total cases, with 947 people having recovered. There are two ongoing outbreaks, the same as on Friday. Those are at a nursing facility and an adult family home, The Olympian reported on Friday.

▪ Pierce County on Monday announced 51 cases, giving the county a total of 7,476. One more person has died, a man in his 80s from the Edgewood/Fife/Milton area.
▪ Mason County reported 12 new cases on Monday; their new total is 401 and three deaths.
▪ Grays Harbor County announced 36 new cases on Monday; they now have 448 cases with six deaths.
▪ Lewis County reported five new cases on Monday; they now have a total of 476 and four deaths.

The state Department of Health on Thursday reported 82,848 cases and 2,055 deaths.
In the U.S., 6.8 million people have contracted the virus and 199,816 have died as a result, according to Johns Hopkins University data. Globally, 31.2 million people have been been afflicted and 962,343 have died, the data show.
