Nine new cases of COVID-19 announced in Thurston County on Friday
Thurston County announced nine new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the new total to 1,178.
The cases include a male aged 10-20, a woman in her 20s, two women in their 30s, a woman in her 40s, a woman and a man in their 50s, a woman in her 60s, and a woman in her 70s, according to Thurston County Public Health and Social Services.
Of the total cases, 972 have recovered or are recovering, 92 have been hospitalized at some point, and 17 have died.
There is one ongoing outbreak in an adult family home.
As of this week, Thurston County has administered nearly 42,000 tests.

▪ Pierce County announced 54 cases on Friday, giving the county a total of 7,649 cases and 170 deaths.
▪ Grays Harbor County reported four new cases on Friday, and one new person has died. Information on that person was not released. The county’s total now stands at 479 cases and seven deaths.
▪ Mason County reported eight more cases on Thursday for a total of 415 cases and four deaths. Information for Friday was not available.
▪ Lewis County reported six new cases on Thursday for a total of 497 cases and four deaths. Information for Friday was not available.

The state Department of Health on Friday reported 84,238 cases resulting in 2,080 deaths. State numbers have been reviewed and recalculated this week, resulting in some decreases.
In the U.S., the number of people who have had confirmed cases of the virus topped 7 million on Friday, and more than 203,000 have reportedly died as a result, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
Globally, 32.4 million cases have been reported and more than 985,000 have died, the data show.
