Woman found dead on Tacoma freeway overpass was run over

A 43-year-old woman found dead Tuesday on a freeway overpass in Tacoma was run over, authorities said Thursday.

Police have not determined how Suejon King-Briggs of Lacey came to be on the Sprague Avenue overpass near state Route 16.

“As the investigation is not complete, we cannot release details,” spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

Passersby discovered King-Briggs’ body about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Washington State Patrol launched a hit-and-run investigation. A trooper said King-Briggs, who suffered a head injury, did not appear to have been dragged by a vehicle.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled King-Briggs’ death accidental and said she died from blunt force injury to the head.

No one has been arrested in connection with the death.
