Lacey man arrested in connection with 2014 Fentanyl overdose
A Lacey man was to appear in court Friday afternoon on charges related to the 2014 overdose death of an Olympia man.
Christopher Bevan, 29, was arrested Thursday evening on a warrant for homicide by controlled substances and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.
Charles Kenfield-Marion was found dead in his apartment on Sept. 21, 2014, of acute Fentanyl intoxication. According to court documents, prosecutors allege Bevan sold Kenfield-Marion the Fentanyl that killed him.
A system to track the lot number of Fentanyl packages was not available in 2014 but is now, according to court documents. “In reviewing the evidence and Fentanyl patches recovered during the search warrant of Bevan’s residence, four of the Fentanyl strips were from lot #5035104 -- the same as those found at the victim’s home. …”
The case was investigated by Olympia police and later turned over to the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force.
