27 percent of you have already started back-to-school shopping
We’ve just passed the mid-point of July and already there are back-to-school shopping displays. To make matters worse: A new survey reports 27 percent of parents start their shopping in July.
The survey by Offers.com found parents on average will spend $208 on back-to-school shopping for each child; the average family will spend $428 on back-to-school stuff, up from last year’s average of $359 per family.
Most parents plan to buy school supplies (78 percent), clothing and shoes (75 percent) and backpacks (59 percent); fewer plan to shell out for a new computer (9 percent) or tablet (8 percent).
While 55 percent of consumers start back-to-school shopping in August, 27 percent say they start in July.
