Police: One injured in crash after 14-year-old gets behind the wheel
A 14-year-old boy got behind the wheel of a car on Tuesday afternoon and caused a two-vehicle crash that left one person injured, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Sgt. Dave Clary said the boy got in his grandmother’s car without her knowing and went for a drive. He ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle, injuring the driver.
“Being 14 probably contributed to his poor driving,” Clary said.
The boy has been referred to Lewis County Juvenile Court for driving a motor vehicle without a license. The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on the 600 block of West Main Street in Centralia.
