If you’re looking for love online, don’t mention yams
If you’re actively searching for a date online, there are foods worth mentioning and not mentioning in your online profile, according to People magazine, which cited a study by online dating service Zoosk.
Foods that are in: Guacamole, potatoes and chocolate. Guacamole apparently has so much power in the online dating world that mentioning it in a Tinder profile can increase inbox messages by 144 percent.
Foods that are not in: Yams, fried chicken, burritos and pizza. A yam, which is similar to a sweet potato, is such a downer they can decrease inbox messages by 70 percent. (Why? Well, that isn’t explained).
Surprisingly, fried chicken (which is pretty delicious, folks) will reduce your inbox messages by 15 percent.
Another thing the study found: Don’t suggest a fast-food restaurant for date night.
Fifty-nine percent of women have a “negative perception” of their match when a fast-food restaurant is suggested for date night.
