Agriculture forum: The Thurston County Economic Development Council and Centralia College will host a public Agriculture Education Forum from 6 to 8 p.m. in the commons at Tenino High School, 500 W. Second St. It will be a conversation about agriculture in our region and how Centralia College can provide job-training programs and stimulate the agricultural economies of Lewis and Thurston counties. Refreshments will be served.

Urban Trails presentation: Olympia Mountaineers will host Craig Romano, author of “Urban Trails: Olympia, Shelton, South Thurston County, Harstine.” He will take attendees on a slideshow tour of trails around the area. Members and nonmembers are welcome at the event at the Friends Meeting House, 3201 Boston Harbor Road NE. Thurston County history presentation: Drew Crooks, local author, historian and retired curator of collections at the State Capital Museum in Olympia, will present “From Ice Age to the 21st Century: A History of Thurston County” at 5:30 p.m. at the Tumwater Timberland Library, 7023 New Market St. SW. Virgil Clarkson farewell reception: The city of Lacey invites the public to a farewell reception for City Council member Virgil Clarkson in recognition of 19 years of work for the Lacey community. The reception will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Virgil S. Clarkson Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey. A Christmas Carol on stage: The Charles Dickens classic will be presented by the Olympia Waldorf School's class of 2018, in collaboration with The Evergreen State College's "Arts and the Child" course. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen’s Experimental Theater in the Communications Building. Free and open to the public.
Olympia Choral Society holiday concert: The choir will present “The Best of Christmas Past: A 20th Anniversary Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Koval Center for the Performing Arts, 600 Sleater-Kinney Road NE, Lacey. Tumwater Christmas Tree Lighting Festival: The festival will run from 2-5 p.m. at the Tumwater Fire Station and City Hall on Israel Road. Enjoy community and school choir performances, decorate cookies and create ornaments, enter raffles, meet Miss Thurston County 2018 Ashley Engstrom, watch the ceremonial tree lighting, and greet Santa Claus, who will arrive on an antique fire truck.
