Burn ban lifted for Thurston County
The Stage 1 burn ban for Thurston County has been lifted after a change in the weather improved air quality.
The burn ban went in effect Friday after stagnant air raised air pollution levels. The ban affected fireplaces, uncertified wood stoves and all outdoor burning.
A “substantial reduction in smoke output” since then helped improve air quality, according to the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency. Thurston County’s ban was lifted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
