Toxic algae advisory lifted at Summit Lake
The toxic algae advisory for Summit Lake has been lifted.
Lab results for two water samples collected Dec. 12 showed microcystin toxin levels below the advisory level, according to the Thurston County Health Department.
Health department staff noted visible algae during the sampling, and recommend people and pets avoid contact with lake water in areas with visible algae.
Microcystin is a liver toxin that accumulates over time. The advisory had been for children, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
