Lacey had a safety score of 70.77, showing fewer violent crimes and property crimes overall than in Olympia.

Olympia had a score of 64.48.

However, Lacey was trending in the wrong direction, with violent crime up nearly 20 percent and property crime rising 17 percent, the data show.
