Motorcyclist killed in Martin Way crash
A motorcyclist died when a car collided with his bike Monday evening at the intersection of Sleater Kinney Road Southeast and Martin Way East in Olympia, according to Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower.
The motorcyclist was described as a man in his 60s, Lower said. The driver of the car was uninjured, he said.
The wreck was reported at 5:50 p.m, according to a Thurston County dispatcher.
Bystanders at the scene began CPR on the motorcyclist, but fire crews were unable to resuscitate him, said Olympia Fire Deputy Chief Greg Wright.
“He died at the scene,” Wright said.
Olympia Police are investigating the crash. No arrests were made.
Lower said the investigation will include statements from numerous witnesses, as well as reviewing information from the traffic camera.
“It will be a week or so before we figure out what exactly happened,” Lower said.
