Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday as Jeffrey Rubin, 64, of Olympia.

The cause and manner of Rubin’s death will be determined Thursday after an autopsy, Warnock told The Olympian.

Rubin’s motorcycle collided with a car at about 5:50 p.m. in the intersection of Sleater Kinney Road and Martin Way East, according to Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower.

Bystanders at the scene began CPR, but fire crews were unable to resuscitate Rubin, according to Olympia Fire Deputy Chief Greg Wright.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation, and it’s expected to take about a week for police to figure out what happened, Lower said. The driver of the car wasn’t injured.
