A Tenino man was arrested and booked into Lewis County Jail after he was found in the roof crawl space of an apartment building, according to Centralia Police.

On Wednesday, a judge set bail at $10,000 for Tavrin R.C. Day, 26, according to the Lewis County Clerk’s Office. Day could face controlled substance and criminal trespassing charges; his next court appearance was scheduled for Jan. 11.

Officers were dispatched to the apartment building in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday, said Centralia officer Phil Weismiller.

“A maintenance person had responded to the building for a large water leak coming from the roof and discovered the suspect inside the crawl space,” Weismiller wrote in a news release. “It appeared the suspect had broken a main hot water pipe which caused a large amount of water to seep through the building floors and cause major damage.”

More than $7,000 in damage was reported, according to the news release.
