Local family shelters desperately need baby diapers. Here’s how you can help.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a diaper drive this month.
Donations can be dropped off during business hours through Jan. 31 at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Building 3, Olympia.
“The diapers will go to the Family Support Center shelter and SafePlace shelter,” said Sgt. Carla Carter. “… It is a response to an advocate reaching out to partner with us because this is an item always in need and not often donated.”
Diapers of all sizes, even ones in already-opened packages, will be accepted, Carter said.
The Sheriff’s Office lobby hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information on the diaper drive, call Carter at 360-480-4922.
