Northbound I-5 will reduce to single lane for VMS installation
Northbound Interstate 5 will be reduced to a single lane overnight Thursday and Friday, according to a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Crews will be installing a new electronic variable message sign — intended to give drivers updated information about congestion, travel times and other traffic-related alerts — near the Mounts Road exit approaching DuPont.
A single lane will be closed at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday night, and a second lane will be closed at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen the following day at 5 a.m. for morning commuters. Late-night drivers are encouraged to plan for extra travel time.
