Here are your 2018 Capital Lakefair queen candidates

You know what time it is? It’s time to get ready for Capital Lakefair. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at Hotel RL with the 2018 Capital Lakefair coronation.

The candidates are Kennedy Baydo from Timberline High School; Kady Hautala from Capital High School; Juliet Huttar from Avanti High School; Sungyeon Jeong from Olympia High School; Irene Kang from North Thurston High School; Sage Myers from River Ridge High School; Mady Ravelo from Tumwater High School; and Jaclyn Tyner from Black Hills High School.

Each participant receives a $500 scholarship. The five selected to serve on the royalty court receive additional $2,500 scholarships, while the queen will receive another $2,000, according to a news release.

Capital Lakefair has awarded more than $375,000 in scholarships since the 1970s.
