A 20-year-old man was arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail early Tuesday on suspicion of residential burglary, according to Olympia Police spokesman Sam Costello.

The burglary was reported at 1:09 a.m. at a home in the 1100 block of Fourth Avenue East, he said.

“The victims woke up to a male inside their apartment,” Costello said.

The residents told police they chased the man out of the home, and he dropped their items as he ran away, Costello said.

A Tumwater Police K9 unit tracked the suspect to the 1200 block of Fourth Avenue, where the police dog bit the man, Costello said.
