Man injured when hit by vehicle on Carpenter Road near fairgrounds
A man was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured Monday afternoon on Carpenter Road Southeast at 32nd Avenue, not far from the Thurston County Fairgrounds, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Carpenter Road was closed about 1 p.m. Tuesday as a result of the crash.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, was walking north on Carpenter Road when he was hit by a woman driving a white SUV, Sgt. Carla Carter said. The woman had turned onto northbound Carpenter Road at 32nd Avenue Southeast, Carter said.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Carter said.
