If you’re going to drive under the influence, avoid crashing into a Thurston County Sheriff’s vehicle

A Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy, who had stopped in his vehicle on Martin Way East to provide traffic control Friday night, was hit from behind by another driver.

And that driver was ultimately arrested by Lacey police on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The driver and deputy were not injured.

The incident occurred in the 9100 block of Martin Way East about 9:40 p.m. Friday.
