A woman was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Sunday night after she was struck by a freight train in Thurston County, according to Lacey Fire District 3.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the Carpenter Road Southeast extension where it intersects with Atchinson Drive Southeast about 10 p.m.

Although she was seriously injured, the woman was conscious and told fire crews that it was not intentional, and that she did not hear or see the train.

The woman was in satisfactory condition Monday, a spokeswoman for Harborview said.
