Pacific Avenue Southeast was closed to traffic Friday morning as firefighters responded to a fire at a nearby homeless camp, according to Olympia Fire Department.

The fire covered about 600 square feet and burned two dead trees and a wooden shelter at the center of the camp. Crews were able to put out the fire before it spread to trees surrounding the camp.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown, according to the fire department.

Pacific Avenue was blocked west of the Interstate 5 overpass in both directions for about an hour starting at about 9 a.m.
