Plan accordingly because the Elma rest area on eastbound state Route 8 will close for two days next week, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The rest area, including its restrooms, will be closed 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Crews will remove hazardous trees and repair a septic tank and water lines.
Once it’s closed, the DOT says the nearest rest area is the Scatter Creek rest area on northbound Interstate 5, north of Centralia.
