State building still closed as crews continue to disinfect and replace carpet after sewage backup

The state Highways and Licensing building remained closed Thursday after a sewage backup resulted in flooding and closed the building on Tuesday.

Cleaning and plumbing contractors on Thursday continue to disinfect, replace carpet and repair water-damaged items on multiple floors, according to the state Department of Enterprise Services.

The status of the building will be evaluated this afternoon.
