Bomb squad detonates suspected pipe bomb near Littlerock, Sheriff’s Office says
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a pipe bomb found near Littlerock on Thursday morning.
The Sheriff’s Office tweeted the device was “purposely detonated by bomb squad due to its volatility.”
Traffic in the area was shut down in the 3900 block of 113th Avenue Southwest, where the device was discovered by a public works employee.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was called in along with Washington State Patrol’s bomb squad.
“No immediate suspect information was known but ATF is investigating,” the Sheriff’s tweet said.
