Snowy Saturday brings neighbors out to play

Nearly a foot of snowfall in Tumwater had neighborhoods experiencing an epic snow day on Saturday, Feb. 9. And kids will have a chance to enjoy whatever's left because the Tumwater school district and others will remain closed Thursday.

Shelton School District: Closed. No out-of-district transportation. All meetings, after school activities canceled.

Skokomish Tribe: Closed. Also closed Friday.

The Evergreen State College: Closed.

North Thurston Public Schools: Closed. No activities/athletics.

Rainier School District: Two hours late. No AM preschool, AM/PM buses on snow route.

Squaxin Island Tribe: Government offices closed.

Olympia School District: Closed. No kindergarten or preschool, no out-of-district transportation. Use of Olympia School District facilities for athletics, activities, and rental are canceled.

Tumwater School District: Closed. New Market Skills Center closed.

Saint Martin’s University: Two hours late. Lacey and JBLM offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.

St. Michael Olympia: Closed.

Evergreen Christian School: Closed. No preschool or before or after school activities.

Pope John Paul II High School: Closed.

Griffin School District: Closed.

Tenino School District: Two hours Late. Breakfast will not be served.

South Sound YMCA-Child Care Services: Closed. No Y Care in the Olympia, North Thurston, Tumwater, and Griffin school districts.

Wa He Lut Indian School: Closed.

Yelm Community Schools: Two hours late. No preschool, no out-of-district transportation.
