Bail set at $25,000 for suspect in Yauger Park fight
Bail was set at $25,000 Wednesday for Cody A. Fazzone, one of three suspects arrested in connection with a fight at Yauger Park in west Olympia just before midnight Wednesday.
The three arrested were Fazzone, 22, a second man, 19, and a boy, 17. The 19-year-old co-defendant was expected to appear in court on Thursday.
Thurston County Superior Court Judge Gary Tabor found probable cause for two counts of first-degree assault against Fazzone.
Two men suffered stab wounds in the fight. One of the victims was reportedly in critical condition; the other victim was treated and released from an area hospital.
According to charging documents, Fazzone had joined a group of people at the park, some of whom had been drinking. Things escalated after several witnesses said Fazzone attempted to “hit on” the women in the group.
“Once he was told to stop, he continued to verbally escalate and tried to start a physical fight with the six witnesses and two victims,” the charging documents read.
Police said Fazzone allegedly was one of three “who instigated and were involved in a physical fight where a knife was used to injure two people.”
Arraignment is set for April 23.
