Coroner IDs motorcyclist who died Tuesday night in crash on Highway 510
Danny Knowles was identified Thursday as the 33-year-old Olympia man who was killed on his motorcycle Tuesday night on Highway 510, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.
The Olympian reported the crash happened about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 510 at Rockcress Drive Southeast.
State Patrol says a Mazda sedan was eastbound on Route 510, and turning left onto Rockcress Drive, when it struck the motorcyclist heading west on Route 510.
The driver of the Mazda, 36-year-old Christopher C. Wade, appeared in Thurston County Superior Court this week. A judge found probable cause for vehicular homicide and vehicular assault and set bail at $100,000.
Wade’s children also were in the car, one of whom suffered a severe concussion and laceration, a Thurston County deputy prosecutor said in court this week.
According to charging documents, Wade allegedly told state patrol detectives that he drank four tallboy beers between 2 and 8 p.m. Tuesday on an empty stomach and felt “buzzed.”
