How do you recover a stolen vehicle? You push it back to the owner
A vehicle reported stolen from Tenino was found by a resident Saturday afternoon just out of town, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Except there was one problem: It was out of reach for a tow truck to recover it.
Deputies say the car was found deep in the woods off Skookumchuck Road Southeast about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. They estimated the vehicle was about 150 yards from the road.
So, instead of a tow truck, they used manpower. Two Tenino police officers and two Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies pushed the car back to its owner, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
