Well that was fast.
Tickets went on sale to the general public Friday morning for Bikini Kill’s return to Olympia at the Capitol Theater and were sold out within minutes.
A presale Thursday run through the punk rock band’s website also sold out. The ticket website crashed both days.
“It was disgustingly fast,” said Aimee Hughes, business manager at Olympia Film Society, which runs the Capitol Theater.
The all-ages March 13, 2020 concert is a benefit for Interfaith Works’ homeless shelter. Donations will be accepted at the door including bedding, clothing, hats, socks, gloves and menstrual supplies.
The event kicks off an international tour for Bikini Kill with stops in Seattle, Victoria and Portland. The band formed in Olympia in 1990 and signed to the Kill Rock Stars label. It split up in 1997.
