Driver to face vehicular assault arrest after crash that injured 3, closed Tilley Road

Tilley Road was closed between Old Highway 99 and 171st Avenue for about five hours Thursday morning following a suspected DUI crash.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Tilley Road at 171st Avenue Southeast at about 7:42 a.m., according to Lt. Ray Brady with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

It appears one vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head on, Brady said. The male driver in the first vehicle was being investigated for driving under the influence of heroin, Brady said.

The female driver of the second vehicle and a young child who was a passenger in that vehicle were both injured, Brady said.

All three were taken to an area hospital but are expected to recover.

Brady said the suspect would be arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault.
