Woman robbed at gunpoint Sunday morning. Olympia police arrest one man

A 26-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for his role in an armed robbery, according to Olympia police.

Police are still looking for two additional suspects, Lt. Paul Lower said Sunday.

About 12:45 a.m. Sunday, a 25-year-old woman was walking in the 2100 block of Caton Way Southwest, near the Olympia Auto Mall, when a car drove past her, then returned and pulled up alongside her. She recognized the men inside the car and they offered her a ride.

Once inside the vehicle, one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded her money. She handed it over, then they dropped her off at a nearby apartment complex.

About 20 minutes later, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted by a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy in the 5400 block of Martin Way East. One of the suspects — a 26-year-old man — was detained and arrested, Lower said.

The 26-year-old suspect was booked on suspicion of first-degree robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping and driving with a suspended license. He also was wanted out of Lacey District Court for violation of a domestic violence order.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
