Election officials seek ‘against’ committees for school levies on February ballot

The Thurston County Auditor’s Office is looking for people to serve on committees that will argue against school district ballot measures that will go to voters in February.

The following school districts will ask voters to approve levies in the Feb. 11 special election: Griffin, Olympia, Rainier, Rochester, Tenino, Tumwater, Yelm, and North Thurston Public Schools.

The North Thurston and Rochester districts also will ask voters to approve bonds.

Committee members will provide written arguments against ballot measures that will appear in the local voter guide.

Committee member names must be submitted by noon Friday to the Thurston County Auditor’s office email, pamphlet@co.thurston.wa.us or in person at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Building 1, Room 118, Olympia.

Committees arguing in favor of the measures already have been filled.
