Fire damages four-plex in Lacey

One apartment in a Lacey four-plex was damaged by fire on Monday, according to Lacey Fire District 3.

About 5:20 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 5200 block of 58th Avenue Southeast, a street that parallels Yelm Highway near Capitol City Golf Course.

When crews arrived, they could see that one unit of the four-plex building was filled with smoke, Battalion Chief Tim Hulse said.

The woman in the unit got out without injury, he said.

The fire was contained to the kitchen and the one unit, Hulse said, but smoke damaged the entire unit. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

The fire is under investigation, Hulse said.
