City of Lacey ADU workshop: Lacey residents are invited to a free Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) workshop from 10 a.m. to noon at Lacey City Hall Council Chambers, 420 College St. SE. Attendees will learn about Lacey’s new pre-approved, customizable ADU plans, available to residents at no charge. The workshop will include a series of short presentations, followed by the opportunity to talk to subject matter experts one-on-one. AAA Cruise Show: AAA Travel is offering free presentations, travel tips and special booking benefits at its 2020 AAA Cruise Show at the Capital Event Center, 6005 Tyee Drive SW, Tumwater. The show is for those new to cruising or exploring options for their next vacation Admission is free; members and non-members are welcome. Attendees will have access to special on-board benefits for select sailings and a 15% off discount for all travel gear, accessories and luggage. Olympia Center Winter Concert: The Olympia Peace Choir will put on a concert at 11 a.m. at the Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW. Free and family friendly.
Free dental screenings part of Hands On Children’s Museum exhibit: Free dental screenings are a highlight of the museum’s Children’s Dental Health Month celebration. Screenings are completely free thanks to Screening Sponsor Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry and over a dozen local dentists who donate their time. Screenings will take place from 1-3 pm each Saturday in February. Families who bring their children in for screenings receive free admission to the entire museum. No appointments are necessary. Screenings are scheduled via sign up on the day.

Christian Women’s Connection: The monthly luncheon will be at noon at Panorama’s Seventeen51 Restaurant and Bistro’s Gallery Room, 1751 Circle Lane, Lacey. Cost is $16 for lunch, coffee or tea and dessert, plus a program. Lois Williams will speak on “Bridges – The Importance of Connection in our Lives.” Paparazzi Jewelry will show jewelry for sale. Interviewing candidates for Shelton City Council: The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center, 525 W Cota St, Shelton, to interview candidates for the council vacancy.
Thurston Chamber’s Education Summit & Expo: Angela Jones, Chief Executive Officer at the Seattle-based nonprofit Washington STEM, will keynote the summit, which will run from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Saint Martin’s Norman Worthington Center in Lacey. Olympia’s Climate Conversations Lecture Series: Paul Pickett will discuss “Climate Science 101,” exploring the causes of global warming, impacts to our region, and ideas for solutions and adaptation from 6-8 p.m. at Olympia City Hall, 601 Fourth Ave. E. The Type 1 Diabetes Support Group: This group specifically for people facing Type 1 Diabetes will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mason General Hospital Diabetes Wellness Center. Information: 360-427-7332.
Cancer Wellness Workshop: Mason General Hospital with the Karen Hilburn Cancer Fund and Harmony Hill Retreat Center offer a Cancer Wellness workshop for patients and caregivers. This support group will meet from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Pershing Room of Mason General Hospital, 901 Mountain View Drive, Shelton. This workshop typically meets every second Wednesday of the month. Madison Scenic Park Volunteer Work Party: From 9:30 a.m. to noon, volunteers and city staff will remove English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, and other non-native plants. Sturdy work boots/shoes a must.
