Missing woman likely in Olympia, Lacey area, Sheriff’s Office says

A woman last seen six months ago is likely in the Olympia or Lacey area, Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says.

A friend reported Shaelynne Buckendorf, 27, missing Feb. 2, Lt. Ray Brady told The Olympian. The office has had contact with family members, Brady said, who haven’t heard from Buckendorf in the last six months.

In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office referred to Buckendorf as “transient” the last time she was seen, meaning the department doesn’t know of a specific place she calls home.

There’s no indication anything bad has happened to Buckendorf, Brady said, but the office hasn’t yet been able to track her down. People have reported spotting her in the Martin Way and Olympia areas — however, she also has family ties to the Bremerton area, according to Brady.

The Sheriff’s Office describes Buckendorf as white, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and 110 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. The office wrote in its post that there’s reason to believe she now has blue hair.

“She’s not wanted by law enforcement,” Brady said, but the Sheriff’s Office wants credible identification by a law enforcement officer to know she’s alive and OK.

Anyone who locates Buckendorf is asked to call Thurston County 911 dispatch at 360-704-2740.
