2 RVs damaged by fire overnight near Lacey

A fire that damaged two RVs overnight near Lacey may have been triggered by a prior incident, a spokesman for the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

About 12:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 8400 block of Pacific Avenue Southeast after a report of a “disorderly” situation, in which the windows of an RV were broken and gasoline was thrown on it, Lt. Ray Brady said.

People at the scene of the incident, however, were not cooperative with law enforcement, he said.

About an hour later, Lacey Fire District 3 was dispatched to the same address to extinguish a blaze that destroyed the RV and damaged another, Battalion Chief Steve Crimmins said. Lacey fire crews were on scene until about 5 a.m.

Brady said an arson investigator also went to the scene on Tuesday.

Lacey fire received mutual aid from Olympia fire and East Olympia Fire District 6.
