Gunfire damages Legion Way building in downtown Olympia

Gunfire overnight damaged windows and a door at a building downtown, according to Olympia police.

About 3 a.m. Monday, someone, likely in a passing vehicle, fired shots into the building in the 200 block of Legion Way Southwest, Lt. Paul Lower said.

The gunfire damaged two businesses and the Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center, a check of the location showed.

Police recovered several shell casings in the area, likely fired by a 9mm handgun, he said.

Anyone with information about this incident, including anyone with video images of the area, is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
