Doughnut store employee robbed at gunpoint Sunday morning, Olympia police say

An employee at Twister Donuts was robbed over the weekend, according to Olympia police.

About 6:30 a.m. Sunday, a man entered the business in the 2300 block of Fourth Avenue East and confronted an employee, who was just emerging from a back room, Lt. Paul Lower said Monday.

He demanded money from the cash register, then pushed the gun into the worker’s back and demanded money from the safe, Lower said.

The suspect later fled on foot, so police used a K9 to track him. Police think the man ran from the scene, but got into a vehicle in the 400 block of Sawyer Street Southeast. That’s where they found fresh tire marks, Lower said.

The man was last seen wearing a gray hoodie pulled over his head, a blue ski mask and black gloves. He is described as 5-foot-5 with a thin build.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
