Woman taken to hospital after car-versus-pedestrian crash near Capitol Campus Thursday
A woman in her 60s was taken to the hospital with injuries Thursday afternoon after she was hit by a car near the Capitol Campus in Olympia, police say.
The car-versus-pedestrian collision happened about noon Thursday in a highly trafficked area near Capitol Way South and 14th Avenue Southeast, Lt. Paul Lower told The Olympian.
The vehicle involved was a Mazda passenger car, Lower said, and there were multiple witnesses. No further information about the collision was available as of Friday morning.
The woman hit was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Her injuries were not life-threatening, Lower said.
The Mazda driver stayed at the scene, there was no DUI charge involved, and the case is under investigation, Lower said.
Southbound lanes of Capitol Way were closed for about 10 minutes following the collision.
