Thurston County announces two new confirmed cases of coronavirus; total is 3

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Thurston County rose to three after public health officials announced two new cases late Friday.

One patient is in their 40s, the other their 50s, according to Thurston County Public Health and Social Services. No additional information was released about the two new cases.

“Both patients are in appropriate isolation,” public health officials said in a news release.

The first case here, a person also in their 50s, is a state Department of Health employee who was working in Tumwater.

DOH, which provides a daily update on coronavirus cases, announced earlier in the day that the total number of confirmed cases has grown to 568. That data did not include the new Thurston County information, which would make it 570.

The statewide data now looks like this

▪ King County: 328 cases, 32 deaths.

▪ Snohomish County: 133, four.

▪ Unassigned: 67.

▪ Pierce County: 19.

▪ Island, Kitsap, Kittitas, Skagit and Thurston counties: three cases each.

▪ Yakima County: 2.

▪ Grant County: 1, 1 death.

▪ Clark, Columbia, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Whatcom counties: one case each.

TOTAL TESTS

▪ Positive: 568 (570 if you include updated Thurston County numbers).

▪ Negative: 6,001.
