3 injured in head-on crash in Rochester

Two men and a woman were injured in a head-on crash in the Rochester area on Sunday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported around noon on U.S. Highway 12 at 183rd Avenue Southwest, Trooper Ryan Burke said.

Burke said a man was headed west on U.S. 12 in his pickup truck. Traffic had stopped in front of him, so the driver hit his brakes and swerved into another pickup truck headed east on the same highway, Burke said.

The second pickup truck was occupied by a man and woman, he said.

All three were hurt and taken to area hospitals, Burke said.

U.S. 12 reopened to traffic at 3 p.m. Sunday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
