The Heritage and Marathon park bathrooms on either side of Capitol Lake are closed for repairs after they were recently vandalized, according to the sate Department of Enterprise Services, which manages the property.

Officials with Enterprise Services said Monday morning they hope to re-open the bathrooms this week. Repairs are taking longer than usual because replacement parts have been to slow to arrive, likely because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The bathrooms were vandalized March 21 and again Thursday night, according to DES.

“Vandals, please stop damaging our restrooms. You are not helping anyone,” DES officials said in a news release.

The bathrooms at the Interpretive Center were not damaged, according to DES.
