Tumwater has taken steps to help residents and businesses during the COVID-19 crisis, the city announced this week.

Utilities: The city is suspending water shut-off for non-payment and late-payment penalties during this public health emergency. Payment plan options are available for residential and commercial customers impacted by COVID-19.

Tax relief for businesses: The first-quarter 2020 business and occupation tax filing deadline has been extended to July 31.

Temporary suspension of plastic bag-ban ordinance: The bag ban has been suspended through the end of April to meet increasing demand and to protect the health of grocery workers and shoppers.
