Attic fire overnight damages Lacey home
Occupants of a Lacey home made it out safely when the attic caught fire in the early morning hours Thursday, Lacey Fire District 3 reported.
However, the home was damaged to the point they couldn’t go back inside.
The fire appears to have started outside the home on the 1400 block of Gemini Street Southeast, near the front porch, Battalion Chief Ryan Fox said, before climbing up the home’s siding and into its attic.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Thursday morning, and there was not yet an estimate of the damage to the home, according to Fox. No injuries were reported.
The call came in about 3:40 a.m., and firefighters had the fire under control by 4 a.m., Fox said. Olympia and East Olympia fire departments also responded to the scene, according to the department.
